"When Love Is Gone" (aka "Love Can't Tell"), which won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, was nominated for the Golden Globe Award and the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, is the latest work of Russian director Andrei Sekinsev. At the beginning, several shots were used to explain the cool-toned country of Russia, which also hinted at the tone of the story and subsequent development. I really like the skill of moving the mirror in this work. The flowing shots of this work show the pressure of life of the middle class in Moscow, the inner contradictions hampered by the Orthodox Church, and the uneasiness and helplessness under the inertia of indifference. The film uses a calm narrative technique, assisted by an excellent soundtrack, and turns a habitual plot content into a suspenseful tone in the second half, which makes people have to lift their spirits and watch them seriously. I have always wanted to watch the director's "Return" and "Leviathan", but after watching "A Fool in Dangerous Building", I was very uneasy about the production of Russian movies. They put the short stories of life in the shooting method of the cruel modern life in today's Russia, which made me feel a great sense of powerlessness after reading it. I like the actress who plays the heroine's mother, who takes the traditional Russian woman's image to the brink.
