rumpled psychiatrist

Why are psychiatrists called "shrink" in addition to the scientific name "psychiatrist"?

The word that often comes to my mind lately is: "wrinkled life".

It feels like we are all born wrinkled, with almost innate problems to face.

We obviously came to this world unknowingly,

But you have to face many, many different problems and yourself.

What is the meaning of life, you ask?

But what do you mean by looking for meaning?

Maybe they are all ridiculous.

To live is absurd,

Meaning is absurd.

So maybe our life itself has meaning?

We come to this world for a walk.

Maybe the experience itself, the thinking itself, the pain itself, is the meaning?

"shrink" means to shrink, with a wrinkled smell.

I don't know why the psychiatrist's colloquialism is shrink?

Just looked it up online and it explains it like this:

The original meaning of shrink is "shrinking". In everyday American slang, it can be used to refer to experts and scholars in mental health, including psychologists and psychiatrists. It is short for headshrinker. The word head-shrinker first appeared in the 1950s and 1960s, when it was only used in film and television scripts, and appeared as a little joke in literary language. Why are psychiatrists called "shrinking heads"? When people are under a lot of mental stress and full of worries, it is especially easy to feel that they have two big heads and their brains are going to be crowded out by troubles. And through the adjustment of the psychiatrist's diagnosis and treatment, the knot in the heart is gradually solved, the problem is figured out, the mental pressure is also reduced, and it feels as if the mind has shrunk back to the normal size, this is the head-shrinker 's origin.

There's a reason for it.

What I felt when I just saw it:

Our lives start off wrinkled,

And when we come to this world for a walk, we are trying our best to stretch it out.

Conflict with oneself in the middle, conflict with others, and conflict with external environment,

(Conflict is also a link~)

are inevitable.

So pain is inevitable.

Buddhists say that all leakages are suffering.

It does.

Li Dan's Weibo signature said: "The world is not worth it".

What I want to ask him is, so (you hope) what is it worth?

The life of a psychologist is also wrinkled.

But at the same time, it is also meaningful.

Because he lives.

ps:

I just finished watching this movie today,

(The main actor is "President Shimo" of House of Cards~ Well, the actor had a sexual assault scandal some time ago, and he also has his story),

This is to search for the new American drama "shrink".

It is said that the play has a good evaluation, and domestic digital seniors such as Mr. Zeng Qifeng are recommending it.

The movie has been downloaded.

If possible, I will report after watching the American drama "shrink" ^-^
