Documentaries may be a little more difficult to shoot than feature films, and a good documentary requires the director to have a grasp of the current situation, to have a thorough understanding of what is being filmed, and to restore it relatively realistically, so it is more difficult. But a lot of documentaries are also a bit niche. I remember a teacher told me that if you want to make a documentary, you should be prepared to lose money and no one will watch it. Documentaries still exist, and I have to thank those who are still persistent for art. . This movie is good, but it's kind of boring for me, to the point of falling asleep.
What this film shows is the Snowden incident that attracted worldwide attention some time ago. There are many aspects involved, and the situation is very complicated. Although this matter is no longer in the heated discussion stage, it is still very difficult to shoot and release this film. The director of the film said that in order to prevent the content of the film from being taken away by the police at the US border, it was transferred to another location for recording and production. I admire the courage of the director and Snowden, and I also lament the generosity of the United States in this regard. The film was released in the United States and achieved a certain amount of box office, and finally won the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature.
During the filming, the time of the incident was not far away, and Snowden himself was also able to appear, which provided great convenience to the filming and greatly increased its authenticity. But, also because we're still in this storm, some things are not yet clear, and it will take time to unravel the mysteries for us.
I can't say I like this film much, but it can be seen that this is definitely a work of heart, and it is also very valuable for research.
