The film ends with Stephan watching the heroine and Maxim drive away. With the end of the film, the incomprehensible and unforgettable eyes finally faded out of the picture, leaving the viewer unable to calm down for a long time facing the screen.
The amount of a person's words is often inversely proportional to the content in his eyes. Stephan is such a taciturn but his eyes express feelings that are difficult for anyone but himself to fathom. Maybe the heroine fell in love with him because of one look. Sincere in his own words.
But sincerity cannot solve the problem, although the male protagonist does not need to be responsible for his eyes/charm, it is undeniable that this is an irresponsible behavior. The male protagonist doesn't seem to understand what he needs yet. He emphasized that he can't give the female protagonist what he wants. The funny thing is that he doesn't know what the female protagonist wants. It was as if he wasn't ready for what he was going to do next. He was afraid of rejecting the heroine. When he witnessed the quarrel and support of the old couple at the teacher's house, he seemed to understand a little more. When he ran to the hostess' house, the innuendo was finally seen by the hostess. He still left silently without saying a word to save.
Does the hero love the heroine? I dare not answer. Because this movie gives love another perspective. what is love? Is it a hormone at some point? Or pay silently and be forgiving? Or support each other even when they quarrel?
What is life? What role does love play in life? What kind of people will you and I be? As people approach middle age, they already have a lot of things to remember. I once loved like a heroine, I can see that you love me, so I need a reason to reject me. The scene where the heroine lost her mind at the coffee shop happened to me too, and it was even more embarrassing.
The director's design for the heroine is actually very full. She has a traditional boyfriend, a man who loves her and understands her. Life sometimes likes to make a joke from time to time, she is attracted to a person who is completely opposite to her boyfriend's personality and behavior. The director did not let the heroine Hong Xing go out, but instead she informed her boyfriend of her troubles. Here, the heroine's character begins to fill up. Not to mention the emotional out-of-control that follows, and the subsequent self-regulation looks forward. Just like the goodbye kiss at the end, it was still longer and deeper than usual, but it still stood up gracefully to say goodbye. She fell in love, almost crazy, got to the bottom of it, and then we'll see you again. Maybe there is still some tenderness in my heart, but it has nothing to do with you.
Maxim is a character with a bipolar commentary. From my point of view, he is a businessman, and he treats the heroine just right. It may be that his job requires him to be tolerant, so he developed such an empathetic upbringing. He will learn that his girlfriend is cheating without saying bad things. This is upbringing. In front of everyone, he didn't humiliate other than a slap in the face to the male protagonist. This is upbringing. At the end of the film, they meet Stephan, and he offers to give them some alone time on the grounds of picking up the car, which is upbringing. He treats everyone with gentleness, which makes people look distressed.
Many reviews have classified the story as a tragedy of love. I do not think so. People meet and separate or reunite is indefinite and constantly moving forward. All we can do is stay true to our heart in that moment, plus think. Why should it be considered a tragedy?
