In February 1985, the "Salyut VII" space station lost contact, the former Soviet aerospace ground center completely lost its control, and had no choice. The Soviet authorities were forced to send astronaut Vladimir Dzhanibekov and aerospace engineer Victor Savinikh to the space station for repairs.
