The film is based on the novel by John le Carré, author of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. The story takes place in contemporary Hamburg, Germany. A mysterious man comes to the local Muslim community for help. The man, half Chechen and half Russian, was badly wounded. He came here to recover his father's huge ill-gotten gains. Everyone around him doubted his identity. Was he a victim or a thief, or worse, with utterly horrific purposes? A British banker and a young female lawyer were also involved. At the same time, an experienced German spy is watching them all the time, trying to figure out what medicine is being sold in the mysterious man's gourd.

The style of the original novel is still retained, and the cold and severe feelings are as restrained as possible; the first half hour is too slow and the story unfolds is not attractive enough, and gradually gets better after the middle half; so if you come out, the organization and leadership are unreliable under any circumstances; even if you I tried my best to control the project and finally rushed to the deadline to finish the project, and the credit is all the boss #you have no way other than swearing on the street#

Rachel McAdams' accent is so uncomfortable, in fact, other people's accents are also quite uncomfortable. I think if it was made into a TV series, it would be better than if it dragged on for two hours now. In fact, I quite like this kind of European-style movies, but this one really doesn't feel like Germany. Going to read a book.
