Perseverance is the greatest

The naive old man, coupled with the almost stubborn persistence, walked staggeringly, and it was not that I hardly believed that Bert could complete this dream trip - I did not believe it at all.

I am rational, and I admire his courage and his dreams, but no amount of admiration I have for him can convince me that he can do it.

I realized that the difference between me and him was that Burt was willing to put his life at stake to hit his dreams when my rationality made me hopeless, unwilling to try, or even afraid of trying to accomplish impossible challenges. Legs would be roasted, hearts might stop, not to mention an old thing that could disintegrate at any moment at high speed. As we all saw in the film, Bert was actually rational, he did a lot, because he knew that the Indian motorcycles before could not help him achieve his dreams, but when the lead and asbestos bandages were removed, I suddenly realized a lot. Rationality is the obstacle in front of ambitions and dreams!

25 years ago 54 mph Indian motorcycle to 200 mph Indian motorcycle on the salt lake bed later, the greatest 8 miles of Bert's life! 25 years of warrior road, cross the finish line but never stop!

  • Leroy the Cowboy: [pointing to antelope trophy head] You got any of those critters over there?

Burt Munro: Oh yes, much bigger though. Well, we breed them down there on big farms, and cut off their antlers and send them over to Hong Kong. And they grind the antlers into dust, and they eat that stuff. Must be some sort of aphrodisiac or something. Puts lead in your pencil.

Rhonda: You could do with some of that eh, Leroy?

    Burt Munro: Your girlfriend?

    Leroy the Cowboy: Wife.

    Burt Munro: Oh. Oh dear...

  • Burt Munro: So what are you doing in Vietnam?

Rusty: Umm, I'm involved in Operation Ranch Hand.

Burt Munro: What's that? Farming or something?

Rusty: Ah no, not exactly. We ah... we just started this program... we are spraying the jungle from the air with herbicides, so the enemy the Vietcong don't have any place to hide. Right... Agent Orange, we call this stuff.
