I think this movie has nothing to do with the "scumbag" male protagonist's sense of responsibility, and the sense of responsibility has nothing to do with gender, and there will be no favoritism because Mark's out of the closet is Kai.
First of all, it is certain that Kai really likes Mark, of course, on the premise of not knowing Mark's family situation. Nothing wrong with Kai. Kai is very good at flirting, and will always launch a flirting offensive when Mark is in a good mood and his heart is racing. In short, the result is that Mark did not resist the temptation and cheated when his wife was pregnant (in fact, still having sex).
Afterwards, although Kay learned about Mark's family situation, he couldn't help himself and still showed affection to Mark. Maybe Mark felt the sweetness of cheating, and was a little confused and took the initiative to approach Kai.
The specific plot of the discovery of the two people in the middle is skipped. After soothing his wife's emotions, he thought about whether Kai really wanted to leave and go to other places to make a living. I was worried that Kai would not be able to stand it because he talked too much, and I was mainly worried about his safety, so I finally went to see him. (I think this shows that he is very responsible, not that he has not let go, or he will come back to Kai before reconciling with his wife.)
Returning to work from Kay's house, a colleague irritated Kay over Kay's incident and took action. Afterwards, still angry, he went to the gay bar (because this anger was related to Kai), and finally because he was in a gay bar, various factors aroused his desire, and traded with a strange man PY... He may begin to doubt his sexuality; or whether he can't let you go regardless of gender; or he may feel like a scumbag who doesn't deserve his wife's new job. In fact, it is responsible for his wife, and it is really irresponsible to continue to live in this relationship.
In the end, the ending was a bit rushed. After leaving his wife, he answered that he was at work, his thoughts were confused. but! There is a second film in this movie! According to the above emotional line, the biggest possibility is that they are together, and the ending is perfect. Secondly, Mark also failed to maintain the loyalty of the relationship in front of Kai, and derailed. (According to the time of the movie, and the foreshadowing that they will meet again, I think the first one is more likely)
