routine comedy writing

The protagonist's crisis is introduced at the beginning: 1. Divorce from his wife 2. Alienation from his daughter 3. Unfulfilled work goals (green house restaurant) Then the protagonist 2 enters, a group of penguins. Then the crisis intensified: Penguins had a serious impact on life. Attempts to solve the crisis failed, and the crisis continued to intensify (the penguins were not sent away, and a group of penguins came). Immediately after the story entered a buffer period, the penguin played a positive role in the restoration of family relations. At this time, the villain (the zoo curator) appeared. Then the penguin lays an egg, and the relationship with his wife begins to repair. The dean takes the penguin and enters the dark night of the soul. Dad's letter wakes up the protagonist, who decides to take back the penguin. In the third act, the family goes to the zoo to grab penguins. In the end, the penguin went home, the family was as good as ever, and the ending was happy.

In the first two scenes, there were constant small conflicts, and I also tried to resolve several major conflicts. I knew that when I entered the dark night of the soul, the protagonist truly awakened, defeated the villain, and solved all the lines and crises buried in the front.

To be honest, this movie is largely supported by Kim Kelly's exaggerated acting skills. The design of the character relationship is old-fashioned, and the transformation is relatively reluctant. From the perspective of drama, it is not a superior work. All in all, 3 stars for sure.

Jim Carrey is not as good as it used to be... old and old

  • Sasha 2022-03-25 09:01:09

Jim Carrey is really old and has the vicissitudes of the years on his face. The penguin made of computer CG lost the power of the rubber face before. Often times the performance is a bit underwhelming. In the face of such comedy Penguin's funny role is greater than Jim Carrey. PS: The little girl is the flipped girl. So familiar and thought about it for a long time.

Mr. Popper's Penguins quotes

  • Mr. Popper: Hello! I have to send the penguins back.

    Voice On Phone: Send-da-penguin?

    Mr. Popper: Yes, send penguins.

  • Mr. Popper: [to Nat, hitting him with the leash] Why are you hitting yourself, huh? Why are you hitting yourself? That's not attractive for a zoo official.
