Jim Jarmusch's "A Stranger in Heaven" Text / Mani "I thought I was going to a new place, and it turned out to be the same as before" Compared to Jim Jarmusch's Virgo "Long Vacation", this work was shot quite well exquisite. But the symbols that run through all Jarmusch's works are still absurd, indifferent, deceitful, and still at a loss for the world! The protagonist is still an indifferent and selfish person, still living in a dilapidated New York, relying on cheating, gambling, stealing for a living, and wandering the world. Just go to each new place and everything turns out to be the same as before. Willie, the hero in Stranger Things in Paradise, is a lonely, indifferent and selfish person who makes a living by cheating and gambling. He is keen to take the jackpot at poker with his mate Eddie and bet his only luck at the racetrack. He was reluctant to admit that he was born in Hungary, and that Budapest was his curse. Dress up like a Yankee living in dilapidated New York City. Aiwa is his distant cousin and wants to stay here for ten days. He was extremely reluctant for this stranger to disturb her life. But here she is, with luggage and radio. Crazy swing jazz on the radio. Eva is a maverick, but still indifferent. After spending a few days awkwardly and boringly in a room, the two indifferent people gradually warmed up. Eva bought Willie a TV meal (Willie said that a TV meal is a light meal while watching TV) Willie bought Eva an American dress. But Eva didn't like the dress and threw it in the trash when she left New York for Cleveland. (I'm sure Eddie must have been a good bro, and didn't tell his bro Willie until the end that he saw Eva take off her dress and throw it into the trash bin on the street corner). Willie felt even more empty and bored after Eva left, so a year later they made money and decided to borrow a car to drive to Cleveland. Willie even tells clumsy jokes to please the baby. In order to relieve Willie's embarrassment, Eva went to see the largest lake here. But the whiteness of the lake was indistinguishable from the sky and the earth, and the three of them stared blankly in the cold wind. Standing there was more awkward than that joke. This place in Cleveland sucked, so they drove to another city, but every city seemed to be the same. In the end the last three people went to different places by accident Eddie went back to his most hated New York Willie went to his cursed Budapest Eva went back to the motel they used to stay in, one that made her restless forever Can't wait for Willie and Eddie's hotel.
