1. Change always hurts. A mad king, the lives of two Enlightenmentists, and the lives of a queen form a novel and bizarre combination. The change of a feudal country with deep roots seems to only start from such a strangeness.
2. As long as torture exists, democracy and free will can never truly develop.
3. The people, always Mob, from the Colosseum in Rome to today's online platforms, all the people do is raise their arms for what they call "justice". Those who really do things for the people can only be forgotten, cast aside, and even killed.
The film finally hints at the birth of new ideas and new forces. Reassuring. But reform and enlightenment have never been easy. We are still fighting.
