Silent Diary of the Beach

After watching the movie, there is a kind of nihilistic thought lingering in my heart, accompanied by the gratification of the recognition and understanding of the protagonist.

The whole film is like a collection of scattered diaries, telling the silent stories on the beach in summer that are obviously happening at any time, but are hidden in the depths of darkness and cannot speak. Girlfriends, friends, uncles dating online, and family seem to be the daily life around the protagonist, but they lack some close and persuasive connections, resulting in a very loose story structure. The loose narrative is embedded in the loose structure, which brings people a more real and heavy emotional experience.

The main shots of the male protagonist in the film are only medium shots and close-ups. The former shows his vigorous and youthful body, full of hormones; the latter shows the confusion hidden under the ambiguity with the shaking of the handheld camera. The two are in stark contrast, like a piece of rot on a fresh fruit. The male protagonist is a very sensitive person: the first time he went to a motel with his uncle, he would cover up his shyness and anxiety with a smile; when a friend robbed him of an appointment for marijuana, he would stare in horror and turn his head in guilt. ; When asking his girlfriend what he thinks about gay men, he will look forward to hearing the answer that will put him at ease. He lives aimlessly, finding himself gay but lacking the courage to identify. He was confused, restless, and insecure, as if he had pushed an innocent child into the battlefield. It is such a male protagonist that gives me a strong identity and understanding. Probably everyone will have such a period: they do not understand the meaning of their existence, they can only wander like a machine; want to change but can't see the light, in the dark It's hard to move; I long to let go of the sense of belonging in my bones, but I have never been able to break through the shackles deep in my heart.

Like a mouse on the beach, drifting with the tide between high and low tides, walking on the edge of suffocation and exhaustion, staring at the fireworks in the sky, but can never reach.
