The film emphasised the relationship between the two women more. I wonder how much of it was true, though I'm glad they did focus on that relationship. Though I didn't like how Elizabeth kept sending Olive away, and yet Olive kept forgiving her. It's good that they have each other after Marston died.

It's strange that Elizabeth seemed to be the one trying to buck conventions by wanting her due but is the one who cared about how other people think, whereas Olive was the braver one.

All in all, I enjoyed it tremendously.

3.5 It turns out that the author of Wonder Woman comics is also related to the polygraph. Psychology professors really have an innate advantage in grasping the "needs" of readers. The birth history of Wonder Woman is also a history of struggles of minorities and a difficult journey to fight for women's rights. Judgment of "normal" and "abnormal", what is the boundary, it is easier to respect others without prejudice, if you have seen this film before watching the DC movie version of Wonder Woman

It's a good thing to do for this kind of intractable romance (and it has to be filmed in the narrative of a biopic), and after watching it, it really makes you feel that the three people are one in one. And the erotic scenes are really erotic. I like the director's emphasis on the dialogue and handling of the female part of the relationship, while the male is weakened as the other of the gaze, a symbol responsible for social functions. So Luke Evans is the kind of North American straight man who opened pornhub to search for lesbian keywords all the time. The protagonist tried to use the comic narrative (and identity metaphor) to find orthodoxy for his hobby in the political propaganda and gender relations at the time, but in the end, the seriousness was still dissolved in the context of consumption and entertainment, and it was consistent that sexual minorities were recognized. The double dilemma in the struggle

Professor Marston & the Wonder Women quotes

  • Elizabeth Marston: [on her knees] I thought I knew everything. I thought love wasn't enough. But it... It has to. It has to be enough because we cannot... We cannot live without you. I cannot live without you. Please, come back to us.

Olive Byrne: I want a new stove.

    Elizabeth Marston: What?

Olive Byrne: The one you have is ancient, and the back burners don't work.

William Moulton Marston: We can get a new stove.

  • [last lines]

William Moulton Marston: [speaking to an audience] My name is Dr. William Moulton Marston. And I am the creator of Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman is a love letter. She is a fantasy. She comes from a distant place where there is beauty and justice, and respect. I write what I see about women I know women who are every bit as just and strong, and capable as Wonder Woman. Now, we can debate the length of her hemline. But what is important is the way Wonder Woman reforms criminals. She makes them tell the truth. That is what she stands for the truth. To you Wonder Woman is just a comic but she's my life. She's my love.
