sincere narrative

Most people may find this film a bit unbearable, but the narrative and shooting techniques used by director Sophia Coppola mirror the life of the hero Johnny. Real life for any cosmetic shoot. Johnny is a popular Hollywood actor, but in this seemingly glamorous life, his life is like a prisoner in prison. He is an empty and lonely prisoner who spends his days in vulgar entertainment and slumps. He drives a roaring, disgusting Ferrari; he likes to pay dancers to perform, with red plastic heels wrapped around steel poles, making a screeching noise that's so piercing as if it's right The same vulgar mockery; Johnny having a one-night stand with a pretty but casual girl, only to fall asleep during sex; alcohol, drugs, and sex fill most of Johnny's life. Johnny has some depravity, but he is not hopeless; he has small achievements in his career, but he is not a big star, and he feels powerless to respond to the questions of reporters. It was in this intermediate state of neither up nor down, good or bad, that Johnny felt extremely depressed and painful. Fortunately, he has a very close relationship with his daughter, and the beauty of her daughter is the only meaningful thing in his life. In contrast, his ex-wife made up her mind to leave, called Johnny when she was most miserable and lonely, and she just said perfunctorily that you would be fine. The ex-wife's unrequited love is like the last straw, pushing Johnny to the edge of the cliff, and at the end of the film, Johnny drives across the highway, then pulls over to the side of the road and walks away alone. He jumped on the cliff and finally chose freedom. The reason the movie wants to say is very simple. Hollywood-style success is so fragile and ethereal that it collapses so easily after leaving freedom, love and family.

boredom is a disease. What if it's a superstar? You can't escape your boredom. The opening has the style of the brown bunny~ I can't find it if I don't fast-forward and watch the pole dance again. He is still the same day every day .It takes an hour to make a plaster cast, and it can be fast-forwarded in a minute just by looking at it with my eyes. Of course. If I can divide the pay for watching this film, I can definitely endure it~

Somewhere quotes

  • Johnny Marco: What's that book about again?

Cleo: It's about this girl that's in love with this guy. But he's a vampire, and his whole family's vampires. So she can't really be with him.

Johnny Marco: Why doesn't she become one too?

Cleo: doesn't she become one too? Cleo: Because she can't. He doesn't want to turn her into a vampire. And if she gets too close to him, he won't be able to help himself.

    Johnny Marco: Oh, man.

  • Johnny Marco: Whoa! What the fuck, dude?

Ron the Masseur: Oh. Did they not tell you how I work?

    Johnny Marco: No.

Ron the Masseur: I have a website that explains my technique. I feel that if my client's naked, it's just more comfortable if I meet them at the same level.

Johnny Marco: Yeah, it's - it's not for me. Thanks, though. Why don't you just pack it up.

    Ron the Masseur: Alright.

Ron the Masseur: [after putting his clothes back on] S'sorry about that.

    Johnny Marco: Nah, it's cool.
