strong self-reflection

This film has a strong sense of self-innuendo from the director, and it should be Polanski's own experience to expose the social status quo of this "others are hell". As a foreigner from Poland, the male protagonist in the film encountered many unexpected indifferences and ridicules in Paris, suffered setbacks in both love and life, and gradually fell into the abyss of persecution and paranoia.

Polanski seems to want to use this film to complain about the unfair treatment he suffered in the film circle after he went into exile in France. Does the male protagonist suffer from delusions himself, or is he a normal person who suffers from delusions only when he is stimulated in this special environment? There is a lack of clarity in the film.

In addition to the first-class suspenseful and thrilling atmosphere, Polanski's performance is also a highlight. The seductive shape of the transvestite is really eye-catching! The most disappointing is Adjani, there are only three scenes in total (the last one is not counted), the promotion of the film is too tricky, and it is estimated that she wants to use her fame to open up the market.
