I feel that the movie is still very good. I have read the original book before, and the novel still feels great to me. Sammy helping Alice and her change in attitude towards her family is a kind of re-creation of herself and what the writer and director wanted to express. I think the film's performance is not enough, and the image of Sammy in the novel is stronger and more stylish.
