Chariot of Fire: No chicken soup, run for yourself

I became attached to running because of a lesser-known Oscar-winning film, Chariots of Fire.

The encounter with him was purely accidental. More than ten years ago, a summer vacation in high school was extremely hot. An English-language program showed a clip of the film, a simple scene: an athlete runs down a country lane, passing by an old-fashioned British four-wheeler. The idyllic scene, like a clear spring, infiltrated my heart, moved me, and became the origin of my fascination with all running pictures. The tedious running gradually fills the mind into a puzzle full of poetic pictures. At that moment, I thought I should go for a run. Unfortunately, the Internet has not yet become popular, and it is already college days when I really appreciate this movie.

This is a true story, the script is very simple, there are no joys and sorrows, ups and downs, just the most basic beginnings and turns, a few words are enough to "spoiler". However, it is full of "wenqing flavor", and people with feelings will be fascinated by its delicacy and tranquility, otherwise they may feel procrastination and boring.

Great British athletes Harold and Eric love running, but the beliefs that underpinned their participation in the 1924 Olympics were very different. In my opinion, Harold, Eric, Lindsay, the three athletes showed three attitudes, and the attitude towards running is precisely the attitude towards life.

Running is fighting

with contempt, and the reluctance to shake hands. Harold, a Jewish student at Cambridge University, felt discriminated against in the UK. That kind of discrimination seems to be a psychological effect, but it is looming and distant, which stings a person's soul.

"I race to win, and if I can't win, I won't run." Harold wanted to tear up the atmosphere with an Olympic gold medal and cut off the cold eyes shot by people. For people, the most difficult thing is not pain and frustration, but fighting against the surrounding air.

Life can be a battle. Tianxingjian Junzi strives for self-improvement, competes with others, competes with himself, and is a strong man in life, which makes people look up to him. Make a deep mark on every journey you have taken: come here! Hey, don't waste your life.

running is faith

Eric, the eloquent Scottish devout, was less squeamish and devoted himself to running, just because God made him run fast. Although the head is leaned back and the mouth is open when running, I can feel joy when running. In this case, you should not fail the gift given by God. Giving up the race is equivalent to despising God, just do it. He decided to run in the name of God and amaze the world.

It so happened that the day of the Olympic 100-meter qualifying was on Sunday, and it was against the rules of Christianity to compete. Despite all the hardships up front, Eric decided to refuse to play, and it was to no avail if the future king of England came to persuade him. Thanks to Lin Xi's subsequent clearance, he gave up his 400-meter race, and Eric's Olympic gold medal dream was achieved.

Life can be faith. Whether it is benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom, trustworthiness, or gentleman's demeanor, it is necessary to have a code of conduct that restrains one's own morality. Be a person with a "fan" and walk in the road of life full of energy.

Running as a game

is often overlooked, and the role that is rarely talked about is the gentleman Lin Xi who voluntarily handed over the 400-meter race to Eric. Free-spirited and personable.

From the previous conversation, we learned that Lindsey purely regards sports as a kind of fun and a game, I do it because I love it, and she does not need to focus on it. Different from Harold's bitter face and Eric's calmness, Lin Xi always had a slightly naughty smile on his face.

Life can be a game. Living is not easy, don't carry too much pressure on yourself, indulge properly, and fully enjoy the fun of life. Everyone's birth is a miracle, "already got the card anyway", isn't it?

In the end, Harold was relieved, Eric defended his faith, and Lin Xi, who did not win the gold medal, smiled happier than anyone else.

No matter what kind of life attitude you adopt, as long as your spirit is enriched, meaning is sublimated, and values are reflected, you will have a successful life.

And I, enjoy the tranquility of running, empty everything, touch the earth under my feet with the love of life, and embrace the breath of life.

Exciting running runs through the film from beginning to end, and the beauty of movement is presented here to the extreme.

In the opening sequence, including the two protagonists, a group of athletes in white sportswear are running on the beach, seagulls passing over their heads, unrestrained and happy, ignoring the splashing mud. Running is free, youthful, and unfettered. With the classic soundtrack Chariots of Fire, the picture is soothing and far-reaching, and running becomes ritualized and sacred. Whenever I run aerobics at night, this aerobic picture, this aerobic tune, must come to mind.

At the University of Cambridge, Harrod was a blockbuster, running the campus for a week before the end of noon to break the record of 700 years ago;

in the Scotland-France game, Eric caught up with the bad situation of falling , before collapsing on the lawn, they counterattacked their opponents;

the two were preparing for the devil training of the Olympic Games regardless of rain or shine, competing with dogs, racing with cars...

perseverance, perseverance, vigorous vitality, fierce will, and soul-stirring.

In the humanistic Cambridge University, the pleasant Scottish Highlands, the simple 1924 Paris Olympic Games, the old bells, the tense air, the passion that combines movement and stillness, running has turned into a gentleman's sport and a man's game. I seem to see their pride bursting out, drop by drop on the ground, to engrave their name on the ground.

I envy them, envy them with mud splashing on them. No matter what you run for or why you live, as long as you follow your heart, this life is enough. This is a lofty and arrogant movie, with warm nostalgic feelings of classicism, and a strong British gentleman style. This is a movie that cannot be said, but can only be understood with heart, a heart that loves sports and life.

The times are developing, and running, which was unheard of in the past, is now popular in the circle of friends, and even the daunting marathon field has begun to have colleagues around him: I ran 10 kilometers today, and I posted pictures as proof.

Someone asked me, you also run, but I don't see you posting pictures?

In fact, it doesn't matter whether you are running or not, what matters is that 20 years later, we are still running. As the movie said: full of hope, walking like flying, to yourself.
