Genius and Ordinary Balance

There is a classic line in the Spider-Man movie called "The greater the ability, the greater the responsibility". So people who are capable are naturally supposed to do more? If they just want to live the lives of ordinary people, are they deprived of their free will?

The grandmother in the film is bent on cultivating the little girl specially. I believe that part of the reason for her is to fulfill her own ambition to satisfy her own vanity, and another part of the reason is that she really does not want to waste the talent of the little girl. The uncle is at the other extreme. He has witnessed the tragedy of his sister with his own eyes, so he only hopes that his niece will live an ordinary life. The extraordinary talent is nothing compared to being able to integrate into the normal society.

But what does the little girl want?

Obviously, she doesn't like her grandmother, she thinks she is strong. And none of the characters in the movie liked her grandmother. She is ruthless, contemptuous of feelings, advocating success and reason. Think of her as a completely different person who thinks success is her natural duty and nothing else matters.

But can a little girl fully accept her uncle's way? No, although she likes to stay with her uncle. My uncle wanted her to grow up to be an ordinary person, but she was not ordinary by nature, so she wasn't completely happy at school. Her mind is too mature, and she feels that the primary school curriculum is too simple.

When the teacher prepared a special exam paper for her, we saw a smile on the corner of her mouth, so she needs to be treated specially, not to show her standing, just to be worthy of her share talent.

So we see at the end of the movie, the girl not only takes classes at the university and receives an education that matches her IQ, but also goes to elementary school and finds friends with the same mind as her.

So even if they are geniuses, they will always have their ordinary side. They shine in the realm of their genius and need comfort in the realm of the common man. Sometimes, we are so attracted to their genius side that we forget that they are also mortals who need to eat and drink, and naturally let them bear the pressure beyond the scope of their genius.

Hope all sparkling people can be understood and be treated as ordinary people when they want to be ordinary.
