Although the tragic protagonists appear to be tortured by fate, they still show a simple sense of ease (Beisichsein, composure), as if to say: "This is how it is." The subject remains true to himself; What was taken away, but not only did he not give up the purpose he pursued, but he did not let it perish because of his own failure. A man who is bound by the chains of fate can lose his life, but not his freedom. It is this kind of self-preservation (Beruhenaufsich, the Russian translation is "inner independence", with Beisichsein) that allows people to maintain and show quiet bliss even in the pain itself.
