In the end, Ava tells the camera word by word as if to wake up her mother, swearing and pleading with everyone who is watching. It seems to me that Bergman is taking the real responsibility of being a filmmaker seriously. He is sensitive to the emotional flaws and fears of people (this is his talent), and he uses the film to exaggerate the dramatic narrative (this is his ability), which is that he wants to make us understand through the film, make us stunned and change.
