The most important thing in the face of disaster is the awareness of survival

A survival movie without lines. It is not so much a struggle between man and nature as a struggle for survival consciousness. From the broken ship, through the storm, to the abandonment of the ship, the male protagonist fights against nature fearlessly, which is quite the charm of the old man and the sea. Later, on the lifeboat, the fresh water ran out, the fish caught was swallowed by the shark along with the hook, and the male protagonist was on the verge of despair. When it met the freighter, hope was rekindled and disappointment was again. Finally, he accidentally said that the lifeboat was burned, and the male protagonist gave up the struggle. When the search and rescue light on the water came on, the male protagonist regained consciousness and struggled upstream. At the end, a hand grabs the male protagonist's hand, and the whole film ends. Sometimes when encountering a disaster, it is not how terrifying the disaster itself is, but the lack of awareness of survival, and I voluntarily give up the struggle.

Radford is too brave. Being able to play such a difficult role so well at such an age, I have nothing but admiration. Sometimes without making a burnt-out final effort (as shown in the movie), one would not know that life can be so fragile and so tenacious at the same time. It’s quite interesting to connect this with gravity. They are all lonely people surviving, but one is very Hollywood and the other is not Hollywood.

All Is Lost quotes

  • Our Man: 13th of July, 4:50 pm. I'm sorry. I know that means little at this point, but I am. I tried, I think you would all agree that I tried. To be true, to be strong, to be kind, to love, to be right. But I wasn't. And I know you knew this. In each of your ways. And I am sorry. All is lost here, except for soul and body, that is, what's left of them, and a half day's ration. It's inexcusable really, I know that now. How it could have taken this long to admit that I'm not sure, but it did. I fought till the end. I'm not sure what that is worth, but know that I did. I have always hoped for more for you all. I will miss you. I'm sorry.
