(Issue 66) Dayin Niche Film Group Watching Party

——"Eight Beauties" The language is false, the singing and dancing are true

This is a movie that uses social topics, marginalized groups, moral judgments, family ethics, singing and dancing elements, superb acting skills, and feminist human rights. There are too many words, but people don't know where to start. In such a movie, the emotions it expresses are more important than the content. What I can understand is that there is no absolute right and wrong, good and evil, and human nature is both selfish and full of desire and dedication for love.

Another aspect I want to talk about is about the form of the musical, and every time I started watching the musical, it was a little embarrassing. Maybe it was because I was not used to such a form of expression. But a friend’s sharing reminded me that every song and dance expresses the truest and purest emotions of the characters. Whenever the true feelings are revealed, everyone will show understanding and tolerance. It is easy to hide ourselves in words, but it is difficult to hide ourselves in non-verbal expressions. Communicate directly with sincere expressions, which will make oneself the same on the outside and make the heart feel much better.

  • Catherine: Suzon, I forgot one thing. I heard a strange sound. I looked through Augustine's keyhole, and I saw her standing at the mirror with something shiny. I thought nothing of it, but now I'm sure she was sharpening a knife!

Augustine: You liar! I was holding my mother-of-pearl comb and cleaning it.

    Gaby: At 3:00 am?

    Augustine: Combs never sleep!

  • Suzon: Didn't you say you saw no-one?

Augustine: I forgot. I went for a drink.

Gaby: Or a prowl around Marcel's room! What happened?

Catherine: You'd know if you still slept with Dad.

Gaby: I'm being judged by my own child!

Pierrette: That's why I never had any.

Gaby: Just admit no man ever asked you to.
