Just one question: the protagonist, Sam, doesn't think he looks like Sheldon.
As far as character is concerned, Sheldon just lacks feelings and doesn't understand human feelings. Sheldon is quite confident in himself, even conceited, and will say "The Three Doctors and Howard" when referring to their foursome. Sheldon wasn't afraid to meet people, most of the time he just didn't want to meet people because he didn't think it was necessary or for other reasons. Don't be shy when you meet strangers. Sheldon is usually cheerful and doesn't care about other people's suggestions or opinions.
Sam is obviously different. He is autistic, because he can't understand other people's thoughts, and sometimes even makes jokes, so he is a little afraid to communicate with people. Sam may never live as cheerfully as Sheldon. Introverts feel uncomfortable in crowds, get tired more easily in social activities, they need alone time, and autism is obviously much more serious than that. As said in the play, autism is a mental illness, it may be born like this, it is no longer a problem of character. So autism is much more serious.
