I heard the song "Istanbul" many years ago, but I don't know where Istanbul is, but I think it's a fairy tale place. After reading Pamuk's novel, I realized that Istanbul, Turkey, is a beautiful and romantic place. Istanbul is Istanbul, the place where the story in "The Spice Empire" begins, Turkey, a small piece of land sandwiched between Europe and Adam, combines the two styles of Europe and Asia, but exudes its mysterious and free atmosphere . This story about spices happened in Istanbul, a country that used to be the capital of Turkey and now has many tourists dreaming about, and it showed its charm one by one in the film. The male protagonist's grandfather in the film is a grocery store owner who sells spices. He has a special love for the spices in his country, and taught his grandson to see the whole world through spices, and there will be extraordinary discoveries. For the little male protagonist, the spice is his whole world. His childhood, his love and even his nostalgia for the motherland are just a small pinch of powder that makes up his memories. I can't imagine how ordinary and boring the days without spices are. Spice is the memory of food, the aftertaste of food, and an indispensable taste of food. Without spices, food is just ordinary food, with spices, food exudes indescribable beauty and interest, it becomes a part of life, even love itself. The taste of love is cinnamon. Meatballs with cinnamon can breed the buds of love. When the parents of the little hero were arguing, the mother only used a meatball with cinnamon, which made the father intoxicated by the aroma of love. I can't extricate myself, and when I was displaced in a foreign country, a postcard that brought the smell of cinnamon from my hometown also awakened the hero's memories and the most familiar taste of love, which is indescribable and worrying. Spices are amazing, but they are the soul of the Turkish people. Spices can represent all that a nation and a little boy misses his homeland. The film shows the love of the Turkish people for the motherland through spices. There is no one country who loves their own country's food so much. They have a soft spot for their own food and are unswerving. I believe that without that love, the film cannot show spices. So wonderful and unique. The film fully shows the culture and unique food characteristics of the Turkish nation, allowing us to experience the unique flavor of Turkish cuisine and the spice soul of the mysterious country while enjoying the cultural journey.
