the meaning of traveling

Travel, physical on-the-go, sex, alcohol, even marijuana... It was the name of the "Beat Generation" of the eighties, they could call him a spiritual exile. In fact, it is essentially a powerlessness and escape from reality.

The dialogue between the two old men also presented these elements one by one. They don't even know why they are on the road.

Along the way, they met all kinds of people, like a miniature world. Finally, on the steep cliff and under the bright stars, they finally understood what was the most precious before they lost it.

When two old men finally got homesick and thought about their lovers, I knew the journey was over. The soundtrack in my head is "let her go".

——

Well you only need the light when it's burning low Only miss the sun when it starts to snow Only know you love her when you let her go Only know you've been high when you're feeling low Only know you've been high when you're feeling low Hate the journey is far away Only know you love her when you let her go

So what is the point of traveling? On the long journey, it is like a miniature world, no matter how beautiful the starry sky is, it is not as good as the peeling ceiling at home.

Obviously the director is not a person with outdoor experience, so he can't make the real walking feeling.

A Walk in the Woods quotes

  • Bill Bryson: So, how are you with bears?

Stephen Katz: Well, they haven't gotten me yet.

    [laughs]

Bill Bryson: Well, you know there can't be a black bear within 1,500 miles of Des Moines, Katz.

Stephen Katz: That's what I'm saying, man. Those fuckers keep their distance.

  • Bill Bryson: You said I couldn't go alone.

Catherine Bryson: Well, presuming you were going to get somebody responsible.

Bill Bryson: You don't even know him...

Catherine Bryson: Well, I know the stories.

Bill Bryson: Didn't he have a drinking problem?

Catherine Bryson: We all had drinking problems.

Bill Bryson: Well, you two ended up on each other's nerves in Europe.

Catherine Bryson: No, no, no, no. We started out on each other's nerves. We ended up despising each other.
