The protagonists of the film are two brothers in the family, 10-year-old Walter and 6-year-old Danny. Walter is an exercise specialist, while Danny is clumsy and likes to dream. Walter has a "pop" coterie around him, and Danny can only be with some "marginalized" kids, he always hopes to attract the attention of his big brother, but can only live in his shadow and can't keep his head up . One day, the brothers' single father, Tim Robbins, left them at home, with their eldest sister (the only beautiful character in the film) watching over them one by one. Danny finds a set of chess pieces in the large creaking attic of their house. When Danny opens the chess box, he finds their house floating in endless space! They "ride" their house and encounter terrifying oddities like black holes, crazy robots, man-eating dinosaur-like aliens, and more. An astronaut descends, tells them how real life is intertwined with crazy cosmic adventures, and says that "normal" life can only be regained after playing the game of chess... As in the previous episode, Spaceflight Chess is also the story of family members going through trials in a strange space, full of dazzling stunt shots. However, compared to the previous episode, "Space Chess" has a more open scene and a better writer. The film does not show off the visuals too much, but highlights the spiritual theme of the film: the relationship between family members, the two boys find themselves and get along through adventure, and can touch the heart of the audience, which is also a film with a general concept. The way to survive today when special effects are flying all over the place.
