The film focuses on Natalie, a female philosophy teacher in her sixties, played by French actress Isabelle Huppert. Natalie originally lived a peaceful life until her husband who had been with her for many years abandoned her. Not only did she need to take care of her elderly mother independently, but she also had to fight a sudden illness. The pressure of life made her feel deeply worried. .
The first half of the film is very convincing. Mia presents the everyday scenes of ordinary people with extraordinary screen effects. "Things to Come" is clearly going to be Mia's impressive work.
