the gap between grown-ups and children

Participating in a reading activity, the first book I read was the book "The Little Prince" that I picked up many times and finally finished reading.

The movie is very different from the original book. The original book is to recall the daily life of "I" and the little prince and the former self that "I" found in the little prince. I believe that the little prince will return to B612 and his rose? Together forever . But a new protagonist has been added to the film: the little girl, who directly puts "me" and the little prince in front of the audience naked. The little prince did not return to B612. The little prince grew up and was no longer what he remembered. Only the little girl remembers that he is the little prince, he doesn't even know he is the little prince, or he is more like the huge bee in the businessman's mouth.

"I" knew that love must be experienced with the heart in getting along with the little prince, and that good things cannot be seen. "I" found what was missing, so the old "I" was a lunatic in everyone's eyes. At first, the little girl almost thought that she was like a marionette, living according to her mother's life plan. In getting along with the old man, she gradually broke the balance that had existed in her for many years. The movie gradually comes to revealing the ending of the little prince, but the little girl thinks that the little prince is dead, the whole story is a joke, thinks that the old man is a liar, completely denies everything before, and then returns to the road that he should go as the adults want . The twists and turns, the hospitalization of the old man, aroused the fear in the little girl's heart, and embarked on the journey to find the little prince. The paragraph at this time is also a paragraph that many original parties cannot accept.

The little prince's rose, the "me" little prince, the little girl's "me" and the fox, and the mother's "little girl", one link after another, if people want to tie them down, they have to bear the price of tears . The old man said that a little girl would grow into a great adult.

Back to my topic, the gap between grown-ups and children, what is the difference between adults and children, is it just the difference between height and age, no. There is a scene that touched a lot, that is, the adults in the movie, especially the adults who appeared in the second half of the little girl's search for the little prince, all bowed their heads and were numb; but when the stars returned to the sky, they found these The adults seemed to be alive again. So what do these stars represent?

The difference between adults and children is not what is visible on the outside, but what is inside. All good things are invisible. What is an adult, an adult is obsessed with the matters of consequence, in other words, only numbers can be seen in their eyes; what is a child, a child still retains innocence in his heart, knowing that love comes from the heart. Therefore, the "I" in the movie is out of place in the adult world and is not understood. In fact, it is a "child" who looks like an old man.

The old man said that the little girl will become an excellent adult because he knows that the little girl has already understood what love is, and her excellence lies in the fact that she did not choose to forget.

Growing up does not mean forgetting and abandoning. Growing up is not a pretence. Growing up is not about being obsessed with so-called important things. Real growing up means holding love in your heart and feeling beautiful things with your heart. Real growing up is about with effort.

The Little Prince quotes

  • Mr. Prince: [telling The Conceited Man when he was bringing The Little Girl back to the classroom] Stop!

[the Conceited Man stops and looks at Mr. Prince with The Little Girl was held by him]

Mr. Prince: Take your hands off her.

    The Businessman: What? Stop?

Mr. Prince: I-I'm not a failure.

    The Businessman: [questioned] Oh?

Mr. Prince: ...I'm The Little Prince.

The Businessman: [surprised] What?... He thinks he's little! And a prince!

[he and his associates laugh; mocks]

The Businessman: Look at me! I'm a bumblebee!

    [to one of his men]

The Businessman: What are you? A duck?

[the Businessman and his associates continue laughing hard]

    The Businessman: [darkly] He's hopeless.

    Mr. Prince: ...I'm not hopeless.

[the Businessman continues laughing with his associates, and Mr. Prince then smiles]

Mr. Prince: I'm hopeful. That's right, I'm full of hope! And I love a rose!

[the Businessman and his men laughed hard]

Mr. Prince: And she loves me, and she's waiting for me! So... I don't think I wanna work for you anymore.

[the Businessman and his men ignored and still laughed]

    Mr. Prince: And um...

[Mr. Prince removes his card from his shirt]

    Mr. Prince: ... I quit.

[the Businessman and his associates stop laughing, causing The Little Girl to laugh]

    Mr. Prince: [laughs] I quit!

[steps on his business card, while The Little Girl then steps on The Conceited Man's foot, freeing her, and the stuffed Fox steps on another man's foot gently, before the three start escaping]

  • The Businessman: [after using one of the stars as example for powering his planet] There, you see? The inessential has become perfectly essential.

    [to the Little Girl, angry]

The Businessman: How it should be for all things.

[ordering The Conceited Man and pointing to the classroom]

The Businessman: Take her back to the classroom. Make sure no one interferes.

[the Conceited Man grabs The Little Girl's arm as he was about to get her to the classroom, as the latter was trying to break free of The Conceited Man's grip]

The Little Girl: No! Let me go, I can't...

The Conceited Man: [to the Little Girl] Stop!

The Little Girl: Don't let them do this to me!

The Conceited Man: [to the Little Girl] I said stop!

Mr. Prince: [to the Businessman] ... Wait.

The Businessman: [to Mr. Prince] Wait? I've given you 371 jobs, and you have been fired from 370 of them. I think it's time you go back to work, my little failure.
