The largest Ponzi scheme in American history, the "Madoff Incident", was finally put on the big screen, giving ordinary people a chance to understand the whole story and warning future generations.

Directed by Barry Levinson, the film stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Robert De Niro. The work belongs to a drama biopic. The director tells the story and the logic of Bernie Madoff's creation of a Ponzi scheme in a way of memory. It is worth watching.

Make a cup of tea and analyze the works.
I. Well-known director and veteran actor
Barry Levinson: The great director who has directed "Doctor Death" and "Rain Man" used his unique and delicate narrative technique to describe the family drama that unfolded after the Bernie Madoff incident.

Michelle Pfeiffer: She has been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and Actress for many times, and she is a powerful actress. The heroine Ruth (Madoff's wife) is played in the film. Although there are not many scenes and lines, every time she appears, every time she performs opposite scenes with Robert De Niro, it makes the audience unforgettable, especially her expression and eyes. So expressive.

Robert De Niro: Oscar frequent visitor, veteran actor. The actor Bernie Madoff plays the leading role in the film, and his acting skills are normal. From the early "spring breeze" to the "loneliness and lowness" in prison, from "rich in the world" to "prisoner", Robert has completely played this role with a calm appearance and complex inner heart. , especially his inner drama, too interesting.

II. Be faithful to the facts and restore the truth
This film is more than 2 hours long. The story begins with the reporter's interviews and questions about Madoff in prison, and ends with Madoff's firm rhetorical questions and answers, echoing back and forth, creating a unique narrative style, and interspersed with memory fragments from time to time, the fullness of the plot and the shaping of the characters. The feeling has improved a few grades.

The work does not focus on the description of Madoff's fraudulent process, but focuses on the aftermath of the incident on the Madoff family after the "uncovered incident". The conflict between the characters, the choice between family and money, the choice of the future life direction, and other chain reactions are recorded in the most simple and direct narrative way.

III. A warning to future generations, don’t
watch the film greedily. The deepest personal experience is the “greed of human nature”. The “greed” mentioned here not only refers to Madoff alone, but also refers to those who invest money (the deceived dignitaries). noble). Why do you say that?
1. As of the day of the incident, Madoff had defrauded nearly $50 billion, an unimaginable number. For many ordinary people in the United States, $1 million is enough for a lifetime of wealth and food and clothing, but Madoff has deceived 50 billion in a row.

2. After investigation of the case, there were more than 4,800 victims of this "Ponzi scheme", and many of them were executives, wealthy businessmen, and dignitaries. What attracted these people to "seek Madoff?" The answer is given in the film - "benefits", "huge benefits". This is a good explanation for why so many investors "willingly" jump into Madoff's scam, because they can have more money, which can't be spent in a few lifetimes. Ugh! Sad, lamentable, ridiculous. In the face of "greed", these people have lost their rationality, their ability to judge, and even lost their ego.

Write at the end. At the end of the film, a person was leaning on the sofa, recalling the story in the film again and again in his mind, and all of a sudden, the words in the Bible were once again reflected in his present--"Don't deceive yourself, God cannot be taken lightly. What a man sows, so he will reap." (Bible, Galatians 6:7). The end of "greed" is both "destroy".

Director ★★★★☆ (loyal to the truth, moved because of the truth)
Actor ★★★★★ (the acting skills of the male and female protagonists are impeccable)
Plot ★★★☆☆ (focusing on the discussion within the family, and hiding the deception Documentary)
visual effects ★★★☆☆ (generally, no surprises)
sound effects ★★★★☆ (again, Evgueni & Sacha Galperine, the works of these two people are still relatively stable, close to the needs of the plot, and will not overwhelm guests and grandstanding)

  • [the Madoffs watch TV as they attempt suicide by Ambien overdose]

Ruth Madoff: Can't we just have quiet?

Bernie Madoff: I can't fall asleep unless I watch something.

Ruth Madoff: You just took a whole fucking bottle of Ambien, Bernie. Sleep's not gonna be your problem.

    Bernie Madoff: My mind races.

Ruth Madoff: Fine. Our last night on Earth will be you, me and Judy Garland. How romantic.

Bernie Madoff: Let's not get started, Ruth.

    [Bernie takes Ruth's hand]

Bernie Madoff: We had a good life, didn't we?

Ruth Madoff: Hmm. Yeah. Until you ruined it.

See there? That's your Honda Civic pussy. Gets you where you wanna go. No shame in this pussy at all. Reliable. Andrew Madoff: What's going on?

BLM Employee: It's the world according to Frankie over there.

Frank DiPascali: Right there. You see that there? That's your Buick Regal pussy. A step up from the Honda. Uh, generally, they're cleaner, okay? Roomier, you fit more passengers in there. I guess there's pros and cons to that in a pussy. You know, lovely pussy. Nobody's gonna mistake it for a Benz, though, am I right? Am I right, Robert? Okay, thank you. God bless you.

Frank DiPascali: [continues] Next up, my personal favourite. I just saw one. There. Now, don't make it obvious. Right there. That is you Lincoln Continental pussy. Beautiful. Just... It's just right. You know what I mean? Like Goldilocks, just right. It's not too fancy, it's not too plain. It just... It's just comfortable. It just fits. Frank DiPascali: [continues] No, no, stay with me and hold all questions till the end. Okay. Right tere, you see that? Ugh. There it... Read it and weep. It's your Mercedes-Benz pussy. Right? Look at it. I mean, it's beautiful. It's just a feat of vaginal engineerig. No, it handles just great. It's sleek, it's tight, it looks good, it feels good, it smells good. But a lot of upkeep. Yeah? Payments are murder and you gotta wax it, you gotta polish it, you gotta talk to it, you gotta listen to it. And, most importantly, you gotta remain ever-vigilant that nobody fucking jacks it, right? You don't have to worry about that, 'cause you'll never get near anything like that. So don't worry about it.
