How mediocre this film would be without Bogart's performance! Frankly speaking, I really don't like this way of storytelling, I'm used to Hitchcock and find this kind of suspense too poorly organized

Bogart is cool, he's cool, his lines are so well written, and the "love" in it is fun, but these kinds of movies where the chatter is all about dialogue seems like a lot of work, and there's some action in it The scene is very ill-considered. For example, Bogart subdued Fatty's subordinates twice, and many clues were explained too quickly and too crudely, and it felt a little unconnected.
