    Reason loves Van Gogh: his miserable life is on the one hand blamed on the damn life, on the other hand, it is also caused by his personal character; his posthumous success is due to the promotion of his sister-in-law and descendants. The film itself is a bit suspect of whitewashing, the form is beautiful, but it is too one-sided because of his death.
