"Infernal Affairs" is an exquisite movie. I watched it three times at the beginning, and every time I saw the ending, I cried bitterly. The complexity of human nature, the ingenious plot, and the exquisite pictures are all rare in Hong Kong movies. Andy Lau's ending reflects the film's title "Infernal Affairs", as well as the Buddha's verses at the beginning and end of the film: The highest of the eight hells, it is called the Infernal Hell, which means to suffer great suffering without interruption, hence the name. Those who suffer from infinity will never die, and longevity is the catastrophe of the infinity hell. This is a film about the complexity of human nature, the thoughts between moments and the boundaries between good and evil. Through an interlocking story, several characters struggling with each other form a hell - Infernal Affairs.
