When the matter is over, I will leave without leaving

The English name is Sean, which makes people think of "Shaun the Sheep" all of a sudden. In fact, I have never understood why European and American films like to use names as film titles. Is it attractive? Just like Chinese people see names like Li Ming, Wang Qiang, Niu Dehua and Xie Chenggong as movie titles, how many would be interested? The Chinese translation of "The Wild Man" is much more interesting, both in line with the West and in line with the character settings in the movie.

The plot is actually relatively simple. A passing "ranger" (a lonely hero at the end) decides to stay because of the kindness of the owner. When the family was forced by bullies, he originally had the heart to wash his hands and be an ordinary hero. Crown got angry, and shot again. The interaction between the male protagonist and the little boy is good. I wonder if this story inspired the Japanese movie "The Call of the Mountains".

I've been obsessed with American Westerns lately. More and more I want to make a Chinese western.

Shane quotes

  • Marian Starrett: You're both out of your senses. This isn't worth a life, anybody's life. What are you fighting for? This shack, this little piece of ground, and nothing but work, work, work? I'm sick of it. I'm sick of trouble. Joe, let's move. Let's go on. Please!

Joe Starrett: Marion, don't say that. That ain't the truth. You love this place more than me.

    Marian Starrett: Not anymore.

Joe Starrett: Even if that was the truth, it wouldn't change things.

  • Marian Starrett: You were through with gun-fighting?

    Shane: I changed my mind.

Marian Starrett: [softly] Are you doing this just for me?

Shane: For you, Marion... for Joe, and little Joe.

Marian Starrett: Then we'll never see you again?

Shane: Never's a long time, Marian.

[looks at Joe, who he knocked out]

Marian Starrett: Tell him... tell him I was sorry.

Shane: No need to tell him that.
