Something's gotta give
The Chinese title of the film translates into "Love is a compromise", which is really just right.
At the beginning of the film, there is a "chat". A successful old man has the principle of not dating women over 30 years old, but he was extremely embarrassed by his girlfriend's mother doing CPR after eating Will Gang's heart attack. He said I'm sorry, I respect you, but I still think in my heart: What? How could I possibly fall in love with an older woman my age? Constantly resisting the natural attraction of his girlfriend's mother, until finally he has no choice but to surrender.
The most interesting part is the confession. Why is it difficult for a woman to find a suitable object when she is old? Women are always conservative and want to find men of the same age, while men are always attracted to younger men. A 63-year-old man is always dating a 23-year-old girl, and a 63-year-old woman doesn't dare/expect to date a 23-year-old man. Is this due to social custom, or is it a bad habit left over from ancient times? The heroine has a young and handsome doctor like Keanu Reeves as her suitor, but she is even more attracted by this old man who is bald and has a big belly and resists feelings. Is it the so-called true love?
When watching the movie, I couldn't help but cry with the emotional fluctuations of the movie. Looking back and re-examining, I found its paradox, what exactly is true love? Does true love also start from the skin? if so, why did they end up choosing each other?
The heroine has been married for 20 years and divorced her cheating husband. There is no sadness at all, and she is even willing to continue to work with her ex-husband to make stage plays. However, when I meet the male protagonist, I am involuntarily attracted and fall into the clichés, laughing and scolding the male protagonist into the script, which is infinitely exaggerated and satirical, and cannot solve the pain in my heart. This must be true love that I can't understand. If it were me, I would be excited when I saw Keanu Reeves' handsome face. How could I still remember that playboy old man.
It is true that two people can talk about life and interests, but so can Keanu Reeves. He also understands, admires and supports your career.
