Ronan Transformation

Before I saw this John Crowley-directed film, a friend of mine said it was like a less banging Baz Luhrmann movie (note: Baz Luhrman is an Australian A director, representative works "The Great Gatsby", "Romeo and Juliet Postmodern Passion", "Moulin Rouge"). Based on Colm Tobin's novel, the film depicts a whole, nuanced, real world. The protagonist of the story is a young and beautiful Irish woman who immigrated to New York in the 1950s, and every scene in this film is so perfect and flawless. Saoirse Ronan gives the best performance of her acting career to date in this film as Alice, a shy and shy woman. It was delightful to see Ronan's remarkable transformation in 2015.

It seems that for some people (young, beautiful, brave), a new and beautiful life is like a bunch of fruits hanging on the branches, just a little tiptoe to get there, the only trouble is not knowing how to get there. Reach out to pick which one... Damn, I really want to experience this feeling! (Who wouldn't want to?

Brooklyn quotes

  • Mrs. Keogh: I'll tell you this much: I am going to ask Father Flood to preach a sermon on the dangers of giddiness. I now see that giddiness is the eighth deadly sin. A giddy girl is every bit as evil as a slothful man, and the noise she makes is a lot worse. Now, enough.

  • Frankie Fiorello: So, first of all, I should say that we don't like Irish people.

[General cries of outrage around the table]

Frankie Fiorello: We don't! That is a well known fact! A big gang of Irish beat Maurizio up and he had to have stitches. And because the cops round here are Irish, nobody did anything about it.

Maurizio: There are probably two sides to it. I might have said something I shouldn't, I can't remember now. Anyway, they probably weren't all Irish.

Frankie Fiorello: They just had red hair and big legs.
