"The Assassin Nie Yinniang" is a literary and martial arts film based on ancient costumes, directed by Hou Hsiao-hsien and starring Shu Qi, Zhang Zhen, husband and wife Mu Cong, and Ethan Ruan. The film was released in mainland China on August 27, 2015. The film is based on "Nie Yinniang" in Pei Chen's short story collection "Legend". It tells the story of Nie Yinniang, who was kidnapped by a girl when she was young, and returned 13 years later to a legendary heroine with superb skills. I think it's a movie without a plot. The whole film is very quiet, and the lines are only a few lines, and many of them are in classical Chinese, which is difficult to understand.
