It took me a weekend to finish reading this story adapted from a case I was once very interested in.
The story is to restore the trial of the century at that time as much as possible. The 8-month trial is not only about whether the defense is successful, but also leads to different interpretations of the law, which should be very objective, by lawyers and prosecutors.
As directed by the director, I also think Simpson is guilty, but legal defense is not equal to the statement of evidence, this team of lawyers called the Dream Team took a case that would have been hoped to be zero by reasonably eliciting racial discrimination, and magnifying the prosecutor's evidence collection Serious mistakes in defense have logically turned a pile of hard evidence into scrap metal. For such an ending, when I watched as a viewer, the team of lawyers steered their tactics completely into the prosecutor's racist conspiracy theory, which directly took the trial into another story. I have to say that I have always had a yearning for the profession of lawyers. Their tact in formulating strategies, their calmness in passive moments, and their sense of precision, all make me think this is a very attractive trait.
However, it has to be admitted that sometimes lawyers sometimes ignore the facts themselves because they strive for the best interests of their clients. The victim's relatives watched the lawyer team proudly turn this defense into a conspiracy theory story, with a helpless and hurt expression. How many people have really experienced the feelings of the victim's family? Every murder requires a suspect. But when a case with only one suspect turns into a conspiracy theory, is there a second that people really care if Simpson isn't the killer, who else is?
In addition to giving citizens justice for themselves, American law does reflect the risks of the review system. When the murderer has a team of very powerful lawyers, in this case, the fugitive will be spared. But thinking about the legal system in China, sometimes in the face of Simpson's wife murder case, Simpson probably shot to death long ago. Both systems have weaknesses, and I hope one day there will be a better system.
In the end, I have to bow down to the director of this film. He not only filmed the case itself, but also showed many other themes, such as race, justice, and the enormous pressure on both the prosecutor and the defense. In short, it is a bit heavy after reading, but I have to admit that the ending of acquittal is not because the defense has money, but a reasonable defense.
