The film tells that during World War II, 13-year-old Reinaldo fell in love with a local young woman, Marina, who was much older than him. The teenager fantasized about repeating the romantic scene in the movie with this big sister. Marlina's husband went to the front line, and her beauty attracted the covetousness of local men and the jealousy and rejection of women. The teenager saw the ugliness of human nature under war, and still maintained pure admiration to support and help Marlina. In the end, Marina returned to the town with her husband and won the respect of the whole town. Hungarian director of photography Kotay praised the beauty of the town of Siracusa, and he believed that the unique scenery of Sicily added a mixed color of sadness and joy to the film. I was moved by the budding emotions of the movie boy, the bravery of Marina's return to the town, and the beauty and tranquility of Sicily.
