It's so beautiful, it's worth the wait

I don’t know what this form of a large number of inner monologues is called, but it reminds me of a technique, narrating and discussing. The fast-paced self-narration makes the time of the story pass quickly. You don’t think how long the protagonist’s years have passed. From the tone of the narrative, you can hear their joy, trouble, firmness, and a good understanding of their inner world. .

I really like this way, different perspectives of the same event, suddenly connected before and after, the audience can see clearly, different from some films, the language is obscure, and the characters are guessed by imagination. Seeing the careful thoughts of the boys and girls directly and clearly, when they are in the scene, they suddenly feel extremely beautiful. Delicate and infectious.

Both Chet and Mr. Baker played very intelligent roles, educating and accompanying the children, giving them enough understanding and personal space. I love this quote:

I also want to try the feeling of seeing everything on the tree, seeing simple and beautiful things superimposed, and seeing miracles happen.

The person I like has the brightest and most charming eyes. The first time I met, I knew I was moved.

The young heart is so unreasonable and firmly rooted, when you start to understand me, I hope you like me too.

Flipped quotes

  • Chet Duncan: Some of us get dipped in flat, some in satin, some in gloss, but every once in a while you find someone who's iridescent, and once you do, nothing will ever compare.

  • Juli Baker: [on why she's interested in Bryce] I guess it's something about his eyes... or maybe his smile.

Richard Baker: Well, what about him?

    Juli Baker: What?

Richard Baker: You have to look at the whole landscape.

Juli Baker: What does that mean?

Richard Baker: A painting is more than the sum of its parts. A cow by itself is just a cow, a meadow by itself is just grass, flowers... and the sun peeking through the trees is just a beam of light, but you put them all together... and it can be magic.
