those seagulls

Well, I just came to love the old. I once studied in the UK for a year. The seaside town in the UK is like the movie, filled with a large number of industrial buildings left over from the economic explosion, red brick walls and green moss. The roaring sound of seagulls, accompanied by a faint smell of sea fish, was integrated into daily life. I used to dislike the sound of seagulls. There was a seagull's nest on the roof of the building not far from the dormitory. It was like a rooster telling the time every day. I once chatted with an old lady in Manchester, I complained to her about it, she said she likes seagulls, at least when you hear them you konw you near the sae. After graduation, I returned to China, and I was busy for the past few years. I occasionally missed my study abroad life. What came to my mind was the sound of seagulls, and the small window where I could see the sunset from time to time when I heard the call and looked outside. It's very strange, this is obviously a movie about a young boy's mind, and it's a movie about youth love, but it evokes a faint nostalgic feeling in me. Maybe it was the sound of seagulls, maybe it was the silhouette of fireworks on the beach, maybe it was the cold tones. Britain is a strange country, gloomy but warm. Well, maybe it's time to go back and listen to the seagulls~

Submarine quotes

  • Oliver Tate: [voiceover] We sat down to have what might have been Jordana's mother's last Christmas dinner, which i hope it wasn't because the turkey was a bit dry and the sprouts were soggy and out of focus.

  • Oliver Tate: He wasn't even considered hard until the Watkin twins famously stabbed him in the back with compasses. He said nothing; showed no discomfort as his shirt blossomed with blood poppies. His stoicism reminded me of the brave men who died in the First World War.
