Life itself is lost

I'm not writing a film review, but after three years, I'm looking back on a film that was bland at the time but I find it meaningful now.

I think it's a very realistic drama. It has long been heard that when people approach the end of their lives, their life experiences and confusing memory fragments will be replayed like a movie. The expression of this movie coincides with it.
Most people's lives are intertwined with endless joys, sorrows and even unknown touches, until they return to silence. Life is so bland and ephemeral that all our eagerness to prove ourselves and elevate our status stems from our recurring impulse to seize on our memories and salvage our self-worth. This is especially true of us in these tumultuous times. But how much real and meaningful is it to jump out of the immediate life and re-examine what you do every day?
Struggle for social status and sleepless work, the heart palpitations of youth and the success or failure of marriage, children... How many of them can point to the desire for freedom and eternity in the consciousness of life? At the moment of death, can you still feel the solemnity and heaviness of the tombstone? Is the joy of love still lingering in your chest as always? Are the people and things you cherish still as important to you? Can wealth in the bank take your soul closer to heaven?

So in the end, I found out that in fact, everyone has nothing, and life is just an unavoidable journey.
On the last day, do you dare to face such a question calmly: Does life itself really have meaning? In other words, life is only a necessary journey to the truth, and life itself is a lost way. Only by leaving the consciousness of life, all thoughts and perceptions of the trivial things that bind us, can we truly understand the face of life.
Yet even when important wishes fail, are repeatedly ignored by others, and are in uncompromising conflict with the rules of the world, the wise still value life. Those who dare to question life are always closer to the truth than others. Life is really just a drama, but some people are liberated and awakened through it. Although other people will have many questions about life, time and space, individuals and society, but unlike most of the bow-headed people who are drunk and dream of death, they have a situation close to dawn.

It's just that in our busy society, we really lack this kind of atmosphere. From this point of view, Greece is a country that I yearn for. Leaving aside entertainment films with no spiritual-enhancing value, our films, and the slightly more decent plays, are all about survival. Maybe survival is indeed a big problem for us, but I always feel that Chinese people are pragmatic in their bones. This so-called life insight that cannot make life prosperous is at most a book of "Spiritual Mind" that has been read many times but rarely purchased. Chicken Soup".

Eternity and a Day quotes

  • Alexandre: My only regret, Anna - but is it only one? - is to not have finished anything. I left all as a draft, shattered words here and there.

  • Alexandre: All passed by so quickly. This suspect pain... my stubbornness to want to learn,to want to know... then the darkness... the silence around me... the silence. All made me believe that before the end of winter with the ethereal silhouettes of the boats, and their sudden breakthroughs in the sky, with the lovers along the promenade,in the declining sun, and the hypocritical promise of the spring, all made me believe that before the end of winter... My only regret, Anna... but is it only one?... is not to have finished anything. I left it all as a draft, shattered words here and there.
