"The world is flat"

"The World Is Flat" is a story in which many American companies outsource some of their business to developing countries such as India, and the protagonist travels from the United States to India to provide training for outsourcing companies. But the keynote of the film is not just a comedy or a love story, but instead focuses the conflict on the embarrassment caused by the incompatibility between native American and Indian culture and customs.

When Todd came to India for the first time, there was a group of taxis at the entrance of the train station, and he had to jump when catching a train. He didn't know the right way to eat, and he accidentally offended Indian customs when he was doing training. And when he traveled all the way to Mumbai to eat a fake "McDonald's" and met someone who came over, he tried to make some changes. Try to communicate with the people under you to create a more suitable working environment, participate in the traditional Indian festival of Holi, have a meal with local Indians, and even have an Indian girlfriend.

I feel that a lot of American movies have some prejudice that Todd first reacted after they filmed the Indian scenes, but the India in this movie looks very interesting, and it's not just about the Indian accent and crowding a lot of people on the train. This kind of old meme is used to create a joke, but it is sincerely sharing a story with India. There are Indian customs, Indian legends, Indian advantages and disadvantages, and Indian people in the story.

With a willing heart to communicate with people, whether it is between cultures or between people, there will be surprising changes.
