20170415 The three-hour movie in the BJIFF Film Archive doesn't feel boring, but I don't know why I don't feel moved.
I don't agree with the male protagonist's so-called "falling in love with two women at the same time". I only think that the literary and artistic youth are really hurting others and themselves, and the Russian poet may be regarded as the best? When the hero and heroine reunited, I went to the heroine's house and said that my daughter was not there, and I secretly scolded "Shet"! What is striking is the shattering of intellectual life by the war: now there is no private life in Moscow, it has gone with history! The male protagonist's wife is the only one who tries and manages to maintain a normal life amid the turmoil. If Pasternak was attacked because of such a story, I don't think I should watch "Doctor Zhivago".
The dialogue is in English throughout the film, but the "Internationale" during the parade is in Russian. The soundtrack of the film is a bit like the soundtrack of a silent film, which simply and rudely reflects the actions and emotions of the characters in the picture. The actor of the male protagonist's younger brother in the PS drama was immediately shocked when he opened his mouth, and it turned out to be a face in Star Wars. Obi-Wan Kenobi! (I mistakenly remembered it as Commander, and my voice was correct. Facial blindness killed people!)
