The mastermind of western civilization

Turns out I was watching the 5-hour director's cut! 5 hours of Fanny's scenes are also very few. You should at least watch the beginning again. Every long drama or movie should be over and then go back to the beginning. Everything that seemed insignificant at first became emotional at first glance.

There was a tear in the middle. Before my father Oscar died, Alexander was reluctant to come forward. I felt that Alexander had the same heart as my younger brother, and he showed me the forbearance that belongs only to boys. The mother and the bishop have always been Alexander's point of view. From the first sight, Alexander saw through everything.

Since the brothers and sisters were taken away in boxes, the "brothers and sisters" on the floor upstairs began to become puzzling, with less reality, more magic, less people, and more ghosts, especially when Alexander lived in a puppet house. Kind of weird, the mummy, the man (woman) in the iron fence, especially the process he led Alexander to see the bishop's death: the aunt knocked over the lamp and the fire went into the sky, the bishop's death was not entirely realistic, maybe it was an idea. Kill it. The film sets the fairy tale-unreal tone right from the start: Alexander sees the sculptures in the house move...

It is really distressing to see Alexander constantly seeing the dead, the dead father, the bishop's three wives and daughters, and the dead bishop.

Bergman satirizes religion, the bishop has become the most hypocritical, fierce and indifferent villain, the orthodox behavior of the bishop's family has become decadent and absurd, and the witty protagonist Alexander is always rebelling against the existence of God: false oaths, language... and Fanny's bedtime Praying machinery is useless... Religion has always been there, but it has never been said.

Like a dream of Red Mansions: a family of high society, the master and the maid are cowardly, the main room is "relaxed", the maid and the young master are a bit indescribable...

It's like reading a Western classic, like watching an oil painting, like watching a play. This is the synaesthesia brought by Fanny and Alexander, which is deeply rooted in Western culture. Sigh its great, but not like the feeling.
