Falling in love with scum is also your choice, and then I will become you too.

Watching the eighth episode all the way, what made me realize the deepest is the fact: falling in love with scum is also my choice, and I can't blame anyone.
I originally wanted to write about emotional insights, but I really appreciate the script and study a few dark humorous points.
The genre of the play is defined as black comedy. Although it is a comedy, it is inherently tragic.

When the three meet Maddie, they are actually destined to be "reborn".

Dark Comedy Code#1: Your choice is already doomed, but fate makes you.
Maddie satisfies all their needs, so Chase Three Silly falls into a scam.
When the three of them faced the possibility of returning to a normal life, (eg, Langmore did not listen to the advice of the psychiatrist & Erza gave up immediately inheriting the family business) they resolutely chose to give up and continue to follow Maddie to give themselves an explanation.
Not everything has to have an ending, and sometimes no ending is the ending.
Not every ending requires a symbolic ritual.

Dark Comedy Code #2: Role Reversal.
After the wife-seeking trio was deceived, it seemed that they had stepped into the "liar" class and became the second Maddie.
The liar Maddie got the hope of escape, only to discover that the person who gave her hope was the FBI, and that what she believed was just a hoax.

Dark Comedy code #3: You can't get what you want, but you get it in another form.
The wife-seeking trio defrauded all the way, except for money, they were actually looking for an outlet for "revenge" for being deceived.
What they have lost is actually a crisis of self-esteem and confidence. In the eighth episode, when Langmore wanted to quit the trio, Erza said that he needed to keep them, but in fact these three people regained their previous trust, dependence, and needed psychological satisfaction during this period.
The relationship between the three looking for a wife is actually very delicate and fragile. Their love for maddie is what they have in common. But they can continue to get along as partners because they can no longer love Maddie, and if either party violates this principle, the relationship between the three will be broken.

The old liars max and sal wanted to live a stable, secure and free liar life, but they chose to keep up with the doctor, but it was a bottomless abyss and a day without freedom.
Maddie wants to leave the life of a liar and live the life of an ordinary person. According to this code, this wish is actually very difficult to achieve.
There are still two episodes, and then look at the endings of the three parties.
