For me, who came into contact with Macbeth for the first time, it was really exhausting to see. The plot is actually very simple. After Macbeth quelled the rebellion, he was favored by King Duncan. Under the prophecy of the three witches and the instigation of Mrs. Macbeth, Macbeth killed the king and blamed others, and then established himself as king. In order to maintain his position, Macbeth killed Banquo, whose descendants were predicted to be king, and killed Macduff's wife and children. Macbeth's atrocities sparked a revolt of the people. Macduff returned with the army of England and killed Macbeth. Before that, Lady Macbeth died of insanity because she was horrified by what she had done.
The film is more of a stage play, and there are a lot of personal monologues, including the personal show time of Macbeth and his wife. It may be more suitable on the stage, as a big screen work, it will only make the film look dull.
However, this is also one of the ways for me to understand Shakespeare's tragic tetralogy, so give it a three-star meaning.
