Black humor, satire and absurdity in the form of falsehood

Zelig lost himself in order to integrate into the whole, but he became the focus of public opinion. Finally, he returned to normal, but he suffered various accusations. When he fell ill again, he made a miracle and leaped across the Atlantic. People's attitudes changed again. He became a hero again

People's attitudes change so drastically in synch like a person is it only Zelig who is sick? People hide their thoughts for their own safety, find ways to make themselves like their surroundings Have no memory of what happened before like it wasn't in their lives at all

The film format is also very unique. A fictional story is narrated in the form of a documentary. The black and white photos are blurred and the recording. The formal interview is unique and interesting~

Zelig quotes

  • Leonard Zelig: I'm 12 years old. I run into a Synagogue. I ask the Rabbi the meaning of life. He tells me the meaning of life... But, he tells it to me in Hebrew. I don't understand Hebrew. Then he wants to charge me six hundred dollars for Hebrew lessons.

  • Bruno Bettelheim: The question of whether Zelig was a psychotic or merely neurotic was a question that was endlessly discussed among his doctors. Now I myself felt his feelings were really not all that different from the normal, what one would call the well-adjusted, normal person, only carried to an extreme degree, to an extreme extent. I myself felt that one could really think of him as the ultimate conformist.
