Ep1

Timeline:
Childhood: happy kid. had fun with friends and family.
developed super power, mentally troubled and caused chaos(including broke cop
car windows) in juvenile years and sent to mental hospital.
in college broke down and committed suicide - by himself . no noose.
Adult: back to hospital-Clockwork for 5 years. got birthday cake from sister.
met Syd.
caused chaos in bed, sedated by nurse. dreamt playing with sister in childhood.
group therapy, dated Syd.
when Syd was about to leave touched her, exchanged body and caused lockdown(saw
The Devil) and Lenny's death.
when "Syd" went out saw the mutant team the first time but was not tracked down by them.
escaped as Syd. changed back to David. went to his sister's house.
went to check whether Syd was still in Clockwork. found and was tracked down by the mutant
team. lost them and was captured by gov.
was interrogated. Syd saved him and the mutant team helped him escape.
Seems Syd went to Clockwork to rescue David. Possibly that was her mission and she was planning to bring David along with her when she went out and got picked up by the team. But things went wrong and she was locked up by herself and the team thought David as "the girl" was just Syd so they went straight to look for "David" hence let the real one out and into actual danger. When they found out about the mistake they went back to track him down but was late just a minute and David was captured by the gov. -> Confirmed Ep2.

Real Ones or Not:
Kissinger: Real.
Lenny: not sure.
Real evidence: The Interrogator confirmed Lenny is dead.
Syd talked to her when she was about to leave Clockwork. (Or Syd
can see David's other personalities?)
Kissinger can see her.
Not Real evidence: David saw her in the basement and she disappeared. Or it's his
creation/imagination after witnessing the real Lenny's death.
Sydney: not sure.
Real evidence: Kissinger can see her. In group therapy. Or Kissinger has super
power and can see David's creation? -> not possible since he can not
tell David and Sydney apart after they exchanged body. Or is that deliberate
Not Real evidence: No record in Clockwork. -> Invalid since David's record was also wiped
out in Ep2.
When she visited David's room at night, the door opened but no actual
feet stepped into the room.
The Interrogator: real.

Powers:
David : create(?) several personalities?
control things.
Sydney: exchange physical appearance when touched. (if she is not real, then it means David can
also change his appearance-not only lifeless things he can control)

When David saw The Devil:
when he messed up the kitchen in college.
when he(actually Syd) was in the red lighting during facility lockdown.
when he escaped to the shore.
It seems that he would see The Devil after he fully releases his power?

Questions in order:
Are the people scolding teenager David in the rain his other personalities?
WHO is the woman walking past behind David when he tried suicide?
Are the old people David saw when his sister visited real or imaginative?
*What is the vinyl like thing: pill with number 03 in the cup? What are all those flashbacks: hands closed on face(child, teen David), scary man with angry face mask, the man in the forest? -> 1. That's child David scared of the "angry face man"(Ep2). 2. Child David saw the "angry face man"-who looks exactly like "The Angry Boy" from the book(Ep2). But who he is?
"How does that make you feel": the first appearance.
Vinyl appears the second time.
Dream with PJ.
"How does that make you feel": the second appearance.
The old people second appearance.
When did the scene David sitting alone by a long table happen?
"How does that make you feel": the third appearance.
**What is that gas-producing frog? A humidifier? -> They(David and Lenny) did drugs using it(Ep2).
*Why David in dream saw his breakdown in college in red lighting? Haven't seen the lockdown yet -> Oh, the "present" David has already seen it. Mixed up memories possibly. -> But it was Syd who actually saw the lockdown(Ep2)! Problem here? -> Maybe not since David is telepathic. But he can only hear what they thought or can actually see what they saw?
Why child David?
*Why saw the lockdown? -> The "present" David has already seen it. -> It was Syd who actually saw the lockdown(Ep2)? -> David is telepathic. But he can only hear what they thought or can actually see what they saw?
"How do you feel": the fourth.
Why David(?) eating the long seaweed like thing scene? with "The Devil with yellow eyes" line.
Why the lighting in dreaming-David's room turned red? Just in dream not in real life probably, but what does it imply?
What's the hole on the floor in David's room?
Why child David floating-happened in childhood or was just mixed up memory&reality?
"How does that make you feel": the fifth.
What did David do to Dr. Poole?
The man in the forest : second appearance. Before dinner. Just a weird patient thought he was a tree behind the display window on the wall?
Now Syd wore headband. Two shots with Syd across-dinner time.
Syd dance move-Bollywood dance dream material?
Child David with sister shot.
Why in the kiss scene the lighting turned red again?
"How do you feel now": the sixth.
"Do you still feel you have power over things?"
Dream scene with PJ again: can David foresee the future? When he dreamt he saw Syd in the outfit the day she left, and Syd in red coat with a stranger(WHO is that???).
What is Liquium? The gas.
Where/what place is the gov facility and who are the people sitting in sofa chairs on the stage and what were they watching? Apart from the people in front of the monitors.
Speaking of the "Commander" in front of the monitors, what is in the red-lighted(again?) cage in front of him? A dog? What's so special about it?
Where or what is “Red Hook”?
Exactly what would trigger David and cause power release? Furious? Depression?
*Who is the "Guard" by the Interrogator and what it implies he has heterochromia iridum??? It seems that he has a higher rank than the Interrogator. Why he carved a DOG? -> He was called "The Eye"(Ep2)? Does he have power too? If so, what power?
What did David and his girlfriend fight about? The voices he heard, were they from his other personalities or other people, did those happen at present, in the past or in the future, or, mixed up?
Why did the kitchen scene mix up with facility lockdown scene? Does this mean (past)David can see the future? Or just (present) his memories mixed up.
When Syd was about to leave, David was not in his room yet he managed to look from quite a distance into his room and knew she was going to leave. Is that also his power?
**When David was about to kiss Syd, he could hear her say "David, no" but she actually did not move a single lip? Can he look into people's minds or is Syd telepathic? -> It's David's telepathy power.
Why when David and Syd kissed, he saw all his past( childhood and so on)?
**When it was lockdown time, did the red lighting scene happen then or in other times? If the "David" is Syd, how could she see what David saw? And how could she seal all those doors? -> It seemed when they exchanged body Syd had David's power then but she could not take full control of it. So she accidentally killed Lenny and sealed herself behind the wall and also saw The Devil.
*Why did David kill Lenny? Is it that he could not fully control his power yet? And why did Kissinger put ears against the wall-what was the voice he was expecting? -> Same with the answer above. The former 2 questions.
Did David think it was the Interrogator coming out of the car because the Leader(Melanie) didn't want the gov to know her existence so altered David's memory? But later on when David was in the pool he could remember that it was the Leader not the Interrogator. Is that also memory manipulation since the rescue team had already come to the scene then and were sure that the Interrogator did not have enough time to make David spill the beans? Or just bad memory?
Why David passed out on a piece of glass on the ground and it seemed there was a very deep hole under it? Just cool cinematography?
Who/where is David's mom? Was the "David where are you" line said by his mom or Syd ?
*In David's (past)dream(and present unconsciousness), he dreamt he did a Bollywood dance with Syd(in PJs, of course). And the Syd-sitting-across shot(dinner, remember?) in red lighting. So is the "David wake up" line from real telepathic Syd? Or his subconscious? -> Possibly David heard it since he is telepathic. So Syd knew it already?
The gov wanted David but they found out about Syd so they wanted her then too? Or they mostly wanted Syd in the first place but got David instead and that was not bad?
**The mutant team came to rescue David or Syd? Seems they were to rescue David so they let the "Syd" David go but got "David " Syd instead. However if it was to rescue Syd, how did she end up in Clockwork in the first place? -> Yes they were here for David. Syd was in the plan.(Ep2)
Why was there a DOG walking past just before David appeared in the shot(and stopped right there in the center of the screen for a minute) when David tried to hide away from the mutant team? Accident or a clue?
*Syd on a man's backhead-is she real or imagined by David? Seems real? Means her soul can get into other people's body and communicate through its host? -> David's telepathy power. But why the weird face-on-backhead thing-who did that? David ?
*Why repeated lines? "How do you feel" was in a dream so understandable, but the dialogue between David and Syd that weirdly repeated twice? Almost exact dialogue. Was there time rewriting or traveling? What "projected" means? Is Syd able to get into people's memory and guide them from there? -> Makes sense after Ep2. Possibly first rescue failed(but then David should be? Dead?) and then time traveling Dr. Vacon+Syd rewrite what happened.
*Why suddenly the gov men were all nervous? Did David cause it or the rescue team? -> Guess some mutant can do this: make people nervous. But who exactly? Didn't appear til Ep2?
What is the light and whose power is it?
Why the transition from Syd/team by the pool to Syd/Lenny/nonny? When did David fall on the floor? Here Syd wore the headband. Did this happen when they went to (date)dinner?
Who's this extremely helpful guy that can remove things(and people!) with just a lift of finger?
Why was David strangled by a soldier and next shot the soldier was dead on the ground and David already marched on?
Most importantly: The Devil with Yellow Eyes???

Weird things :
Baby David with Toy Devil.
When Lenny "visited" the basement, then disappeared and the sister came down to check upon David, Lenny showed up in the mirror on the floor.

Fun facts:
When David waked up in the pool, behind him it wrote “Diva” on the wall.

Amazing things:
The window-reflection kiss

Possibly important characters:
The Interrogator/Commander/Guard
The mutant team: Kerry Loudermilk, Ptonomy Wallace, the very-useful-rock-moving guy and Sydney Barrett
The Leader: Melanie Bird(what's her power?)

Ep2

Timeline (cont'd with ep no.):
Childhood: 1 happy kid. had fun with friends and family.
2 dad read the book. so scared of the "angry face man" that possibly the first time
(unconsciously)used power.
1 developed super power, mentally troubled and caused chaos(including broke cop
car windows) in juvenile years and sent to mental hospital.
1 in college broke down. broke up with girlfriend.
1 committed suicide - by himself. no noose.
(following events before suicide or after?)
2 visited shrink. met junkie friend Lenny. got the "Vapor" by selling the stove. when he
and Lenny did the drug he saw the Devil again.
2 learned Amy was going to be married.
2 visited shrink again. talked about the star gazing trips with dad. this time the door
opened and the shrink was murdered by the Devil?. took out his own records and
fled.
Adult: 1 back to hospital-Clockwork for 5 years. got birthday cake from sister.
1 met Syd.
1 caused chaos in bed, sedated by nurse. dreamt playing with sister in childhood.
1 group therapy, dated Syd.
1 when Syd was about to leave touched her, exchanged body and caused lockdown(saw
The Devil) and Lenny's death.
1 when "Syd" went out saw the mutant team the first time but was not tracked down by them.
1 escaped as Syd. changed back to David. went to his sister's house.
1 went to check whether Syd was still in Clockwork. found and was tracked down by the
mutant team. lost them and was captured by gov.
1 was interrogated. Syd saved him and the mutant team helped him escape.
2 arrived summerland. shook hands with Cary and passed out. Melanie taught him to focus on
single voice-to "tune in" to different people.
2 memory work with Ptonomy and Melanie. where he saw the bedside childhood memories
with dad, shrink visit, and Lenny with the stove. woke up besides the polar bear specimen.
2 talk with Syd on swing at night.
2 memory work with Ptonomy and Melanie again. this time continued and saw he and Lenny
doing drugs and seeing the Devil part. here they went back to the "glitch" part. from there
they went to the "angry face man" childhood memory.
2 talk with Syd by the river at sunset when he realized he is telepathic.
2 memory storage MRI scan. recalled the memory works he did and what he remembered in
those sessions. then he recalled what happened next-he talked about the star gazing trips
and then the closet door opened.
2 still in MRI, sensed Amy was being captured by Division 3 in the meantime. first time managed to
make two way communication-Amy vaguely heard him calling her name . Cary left and saw
the Devil again.
2 woke up on a slab-not in MRI machine.
2 lying on bed remembered the Devil? killed the shrink.
2 planned to leave to rescue his sister but stayed instead-Syd talked him out of it.
2 "The Eye" interrogated Amy(eels?).

Power:
Ptonomy: Revisit some people's memory(need to connect via the table with knobs to bring others(include memory owner) to the memory)
Make people sleep
David(cont'd): TELEPATHY.

Characters:
Amy: David's sister
King: David and Amy's dog
Cary: Seemingly telepathic , doing MRI scan for David.
Kerry? Martial arts?

When David saw The Devil:
1 when he messed up the kitchen in college.
1 when he(actually Syd) was in the red lighting during facility lockdown.
1 when he escaped to the shore.
2 when he took drugs with Lenny.
2 when he was in MRI machine and sensed Amy was captured.
It seems that he would see The Devil when he was in high stress mental state?

Questions in order:
The Summerland: "did not exist"?
The heterochromia iridum man: "The Eye"? What's his power?
*Why David and (who is the man?) shook hands then he passed out? -> Dr. Cary? Because he is also telepathic?
**What's the cubic room they were waiting in while David was unconscious? -> The elevator.
Division 3?
"Rewrite life"?
*David's father died last year? CHARLES Xavier????? Astronomer?? -> He "meant it like a metaphor" about stars talking to him. So he is not Charles right? Then who he is?
Does the story David's father told mean David killed his mother???
*"Lightning"? What is cut off in this part? "The Vapor"? -> "Vapor" is a new drug(like what they took). "Lightning" is the college breakdown flashback. And the cut off part is when the door opened-why this would be cut off?
*David eats Twizzler??? When did the Shrink/Lenny part happen? College? Before entering Clockwork? Why stole a stove? Lenny lesbian/ bisexual -> Stove is for drugs.
Why during memory work childhood memory cut to the shrink conversation and why David woke up besides the polar bear specimen display? Not in the same room?
What is talk work?
David is key to what else than war?
"Dr. Vacon's time travel class"? Who's Dr. Vacon-one of the mutants in comics?
Who's the flashing silhouette appeared during the conversation b/w David and Ptonomy?
Syd's mom was mean to her?
Syd heard what when she was David? Which the mutants and Divison 3 also heard?
*Who's the doctor doing scans on David? He has the same power right? And what's the scan for? -> To figure out David's memory data structure in head.
What is it about why the drug is blue? And the lion head on sofa armrest? Parrot? Mannequin? Means nothing or?
WHY David saw the Devil after using drugs? "Red leather yellow leather"?
When the memory work team got to the "glitch" part they went straight out of THE DOOR where the Devil came out. Coincidence or? But that's a closet door not an actual one?
Who's the "angry face man"-like from the book ? He also appeared in the flashback memories in Ep1. Why only the book was taken out-is it David's fear projecting into reality? The fear that he would hurt his mom or anybody he is close to?
Was it the child David or the adult David that made the house shake?
**"But I'll protect you" WHO said that? Not Syd? But it's Syd's voice? Like what happened when they were about to kiss in Ep1? -> Yep. He can hear others' thoughts. So a lot in Ep1 make sense now.
What did the stars say exactly?
*The door is open-why and who or what made it? -> Guess it's the Devil. But why? What it needs-it sliced across the shrink's face??
So David can even hear his sister miles away. Very strong telepathy?
David saw the Devil in MRI machine. But why then? And why David woke up and he was on a slab? Not in the machine?
The tanks and so on on the table behind Melanie-so it really is a war? That's their enemy's equip or theirs?
What is that thing seemingly dropped out of the sky?
*What are those CD/DVDs in the drawer? And the shrink sitting in the dark? -> David's records. And the shrink is DEAD with wounds on head. But why is it already nighttime? When he visited it was daytime apparently.
"Going up" "Descending" "Down":so the school is half underground?
What is the place they brought Amy to and what are those eel like things?
Is Syd somewhat related to Rogue?

*: Half solved question
**: Solved question

I thought the show went straight downhill since there was barely any plot advancement after episode 2 and there was no need to write down all the details anymore. I was wrong. Plot advancement is not what this show is about from the very beginning. Or in other words, this is what the creators deliberately put before our eyes-different narrative structures, confusing time/space jump and twists, dazzling cinematography-just like what the characters went through and struggled to make sense of in the storyline. And boom, the truth, the final resolution, finally the character growth and we can actually feel how hard/irritating/confusing/intolerable the whole journey is. A sensory approach like none before. Neat, isn't it?
I'll revisit the episodes and pick up interesting details later on.
This is still an amazing show-just not what we're used to, something audaciously new.
