"One Man's Martial Arts" is a very sincere film. The martial arts scenes are very exciting, especially in the last part of the two people fighting on the highway interspersed with container trucks and cars, which is like a symphony. The martial arts drama is wonderful, but the literary drama is relatively weak. More than 90% of the camera positions in the whole film have been carefully selected. The beauty refers to the color matching of the scenes, the selection of the object configuration and the actors' costumes. The most interesting thing is that many famous martial arts instructors participated in the performance.
Some commented that the film lacks the theme idea, but the theme idea is very clear: being the first in martial arts is not the ultimate goal of learning martial arts. However, there are indeed deficiencies in the focus on the theme, so the movie can't give people a deep understanding, but like I said in the last martial arts scene, the atmosphere of horror created by Wu Zhi's madness is still quite strong.
I'm used to seeing Wang Baoqiang play a simple and honest person, but I didn't expect to play this martial arts idiot very well. Donnie Yen is the same old man. He hasn't learned how to act with his eyes. His acting skills are superficial, and the relatively simple content of the story is probably the fatal wound of this movie.
