Do you really have to love and kill each other?

I can't guess the direction and ending when I see it halfway through. As a suspense movie, it is undoubtedly a success, but the handling of the final ending is a little unsatisfactory. Do we really have to love and kill each other? So many scenes can end the other party's , both sides have no choice, so it seems, who is the real winner? One won the game and lost his life, and the other was humiliated and out of control but survived. It's really a cloud.
The script is still very good, and the actors are also very good. The acting of an old pervert and a small pervert is really a surprise to me. PS Jude Law really surprised me. It's been a long time since I gave a five-star movie. Actually, I want to give it four and a half stars. Unfortunately, it doesn't have this score

A remake of the 1972 film of the same name starring Laurence Oliver and Michael Caine, with only two characters appearing in the entire film, and the whole story takes place in a house. Michael Caine played a young cheating lover in 1972, now turned detective novelist.

The script was so confusing, and Jude Law's performance didn't break through.

Sleuth quotes

  • Andrew Wyke: What sort of parts do you play?

Milo Tindle: Killers, mostly. Sex maniacs, perverts.

  • Andrew Wyke: So you're not well-known.

Detective Inspector Black: No, I'm a common-or-garden copper. Just catch sex criminals, perverts.

    [sniff]

    Detective Inspector Black: Homicidal maniacs.

Andrew Wyke: And what do you do with them when you catch them?

Detective Inspector Black: I generally cut their balls off.
